[Español] Dear Parishioners, To update all of you: (1) My Covid-19 test came back Negative (yea!).   However since by the Covid-19 protocol I still have a couple of days to self-isolate and almost everything that I absolutely need to do I can do from home, I will fulfill the requirements of the protocol, coming back on Thursday evening to celebrate the Spanish Mass (Deacon Tony has conducted three Communion Services in my absence, and I think that should be enough.   Thanks Deacon Tony, Deacon Richard and Fr. To update you here.  A couple of weeks ago, I came down with a cold as I often do in the fall.  I got checked out at St. Jude Urgent Care, the doctor agreed, "Yup, you have a cold."  That weekend I stayed at home, to get myself out of the cold, and mostly did. However, as would often happen to me with colds of years past, the cold having mostly gone away, dropped further down my throat, turning eventually into a cough.  And as in other years, on Thursday, I went to St. Jude's Urgent Care to get some antibiotics to deal with the cough.  They gave them to me.  BUT then since cough and some shortness of breath are classic symptoms of COVID-19, they asked me to take a COVID test, which given that COVID cases are again rising, and lots of people are in need of the test will now take 5-7 days for results to return.  What good is a test like that?  But of course I took it.   [Español] Hi folks,  I found myself coming down in the last couple of days WITH A COLD . AY, how would one know / distinguish it from COVID-19? Well, (1) I found a chart / compared symptoms -- my principal symptoms were:  a) a SORE THROAT yesterday ( COMMON for a cold, SOMETIMES for COVID-19) b)  a  RUNNY NOSE / CONGESTION today ( COMMON for a cold, RARE for COVID-19) Otherwise, my breathing was fine, oximeter reading 98% ( below 95% starts to indicate a possible COVID problem ), no fever, etc. (2) I still did a self evaluation on the CDC site .  It was recommended that I seek a health professional (3) I made a quick appointment (for this morning / but they take walk-ups ... they take your name and you wait in your car until they call you) at St. Jude's Urgent Care .   Youth Ministry is starting soon! Beginning October 28th, we will start a series by Life Teen for all 7th-12th grade teens!!  This Youth Ministry series is for all middle school, and high school teens who want to make a difference in putting an end to Racism and Discrimination! Throughout this Life Night series, teens will become more prepared to live in the diverse beauty of heaven by working toward racial justice in their daily lives. Parents will receive content overview of each session along with follow up conversation starters after each LifeNight. Life Nights will be held every other Tuesday nights from 7:00pm-8:30pm on zoom, starting this Wednesday October 28th. All teens must be registered by a parent or guardian.
