All are invited to a Zoom Interfaith Memorial Prayer Service on Tuesday,  June 14h at 12:15 PM for the 43 people who died "Without Fixed Abode" in OC in May, 2023 as well as the 1 other person who had died in March, 2023 but had still gone unrecorded last month.   Zoom info below.

The 43 person death toll for May brings us back to the record breaking death tolls of last year.  Indeed,  with the exception of a welcome one month dip last month, year to date the death count among those "without fixed abode" is 10% higher (227 vs 205) for this year over last year.

To put it in perspective, if one takes the 2022 PIT seriously, nearly 4% (3.96%) of the County's 5718 person homeless population has already died since the beginning of the year, and we are on track for a full 9.5% of the County's homeless population dying by the end of the year.

The 48 person death toll continues the sad record breaking pace for the year.  All told, 308 people "without fixed abode" have already died in the County this year, a number 10% higher than the then record breaking 288 people who had died last year at this point in time.   If things do not change, then 528 people "without fixed abode will have died in the County by the end of the year an equivalent of 9.2% of the County's homeless population (counted to be 5718 in the last PIT Count conducted in January 2022) having died in this County by the end of the year.    All are invited to a Zoom Interfaith Memorial Prayer Service on Tuesday,  Oct 10th at 12:15 PM for the 51 people who died "Without Fixed Abode" in OC in August, 2023 as well as the 2 other people who had died in previous months but had still gone unrecorded until now.   Zoom info below. The 53 person death toll continues the sad record breaking pace for the year.  All told, exactly 400 people "without fixed abode" have already died in the County this year, with three months to go.   If things do not change, then 533 people "without fixed abode will have died in the County by the end of the year an equivalent of 9.3% of the County's homeless population (counted to be 5718 in the last PIT Count conducted in January 2022) having died in this County by the end of the year.
