Statement from the Diocese of Orange: Public Masses can begin on the Sol. of Corpus Christi (June 14)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GARDEN GROVE, CALIF., (May 22, 2020) –The Diocese of Orange announced today that public masses can begin in Orange County on the solemnity of Corpus Christi, Sunday, June 14 (including Saturday June 13 Vigil Masses) in a phased-in approach with measures in place to safeguard public health. In addition, the Bishop of Orange, Kevin W. Vann, extends a dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass on Sunday and Holy Days of Obligation until such time as it is deemed safe to have large gatherings at Mass.

Interfaith Prayer Service on Zoom, Tues, Aug 8th at 12:15 PM for the 47 People "Without Fixed Abode" who died in July 2023 in OC

   All are invited to a Zoom Interfaith Memorial Prayer Service on Tuesday,  Aug 8th at 12:15 PM for the 47 people who died "Without Fixed Abode" in OC in July, 2023 as well as the 1 other person who had died in June, 2023 but had still gone unrecorded last month.   Zoom info below. The 48 person death toll continues the sad record breaking pace for the year.  All told, 308 people "without fixed abode" have already died in the County this year, a number 10% higher than the then record breaking 288 people who had died last year at this point in time.   If things do not change, then 528 people "without fixed abode will have died in the County by the end of the year an equivalent of 9.2% of the County's homeless population (counted to be 5718 in the last PIT Count conducted in January 2022) having died in this County by the end of the year.    All are invited to a Zoom Interfaith Memorial Prayer Service on Tuesday,  Oct 10th at 12:15 PM for the 51 people who died "Without Fixed Abode" in OC in August, 2023 as well as the 2 other people who had died in previous months but had still gone unrecorded until now.   Zoom info below.
