  [Versión en Español] January 4, 2022 - Memorial of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Dear Parishioners, Applying to our Parish the recommendations offered by the Diocese at its January 4th Zoom meeting with all Pastors and business managers: (1) All on-site meetings of parish groups and ministries are cancelled until the end of January.   (2) Masses, Weddings, Quinces, Baptisms (in the Church) and hearing of Confessions (outside) will continue as in the recent past, but all attendees are _strongly_ encouraged to wear masks at those sacramental activities. (3) Weekday Masses, as well as the 5 PM Sat, 10:30 AM Sun and 12:30 PM Sun Masses will be livestreamed again on our Parish Facebook page (and stored again on our Parish YouTube Page). (4) The Faith Formation Program has already made its adaptations.  First Communion classes were not scheduled for January anyway, and Confirmation classes for the month of January have been moved online or for at home independent study. [Versión en Español] Introduction: Sometime in July 2021, a family of artists from my parents' part of the world "dropped out of the sky" and came to the Parish to ask if they could paint some things for us.   They said not to worry about money as they had their own funding but wished in fact to do something nice for a friend they had known who had a connection to Fullerton.  Looking at a number of examples of their work -- they were good -- and assured that this wouldn't cost us anything (we will definitely take up a Collection for them before they complete all of their work), I said what the heck.   For the sake of due diligence, I had them go through our Diocese's Safe Environment program, complete with finger printing, and I got them all COVID-19 vaccines.   With any such request in this regard, they always quite happily complied. Tuesday, Nov 9th at 12:15 PM Another 30 people died "without fixed abode" in OC in Oct, 2021, including 3 in Fullerton.  This brings the year's homeless death count through the end of October to 321 lives county-wide or only 4 less than the 325 homeless lives lost for the entire year of 2020 with two months to go.  Since county-wide the death rate among those "without fixed abode" has been essentially one person per day, we've almost certainly passed last year's (then also record) level by now. And in Fullerton, the homeless death count stands now at 21 with two months to go.  Last year, for the whole year the number of deaths of those without fixed abode was 20.   So Fullerton has already exceeded last year's number.   Hello, All are invited to a Zoom Interfaith Memorial Prayer Service for OC's Homeless Deceased. Tuesday, Oct 12th at 12:15 PM Another 31 people died "without fixed abode" in Sept, 2021, bringing the year's total to date to 291 lives lost, over TWICE the number, 142, to have died "without fixed abode" from the beginning of the year to the end of Sept in 2019, the last year before COVID-19.   In 2020 the number of deceased "without fixed abode" at this was 244.  So we are on track to have the worst year for the homeless of Orange County since we started to publicize the death tolls in 2018. Does it have to be this way?  Of course not.  But this is the day-to-day, month-to-month, year-to-year cost of inaction. Once again, let us remember their names. Fr.
