Interfaith Prayer Service on Zoom, Tues, Dec 10th at 12:15 PM for the 22 People "Without Fixed Abode" who died in Nov 2024 in OC

 

All are invited to a Zoom Interfaith Memorial Prayer Service on Dec 10 at 12:15 PM for the 22 people who died "Without Fixed Abode" in OC in Nov 2024.    

The death rate among those who died without fixed abode for the year continues to be about 20-25% lower than it was last year, though continues to be at about the level of 2021 and remains nearly twice as high as it was in 2019.

So we give thanks for apparent reduction of homeless deaths this year, but we continue to remember the 22 who've died on our streets in this past month nonetheless

Hi folks, Offering here a "Part Two" to my pandemic movie picks.  "Part One" centered on Comedies .  Here are dramas / thrillers.  Every one of these films is accessible via Amazon and/or Google Play and IMHO worth one's time. Fr Dennis' Comedy Movie Selections (for ADULTS) -- Pandemic Edition ;-)

Hi folks, Yesterday, I was asked by a Deacon of ours, "Hey Father, you used to write about movies.  Come up with a list of Comedy movie suggestions for us PLEASE NOTHING HARD OR DEPRESSING.  My wife and I have pretty much burned through our Netflix Queue..." SO ... challenged ...  Here are 15-20 movie selections that most folks NEVER WOULD HAVE HEARD OF but WILL NEVER FORGET after seeing them AND ... they're all on Amazon Prime Video ;-) A couple of caveats:   (1) This is a list for adults.  There are all sorts of movies for kids , teens and young adults (late teens, early 20s) that I would recommend.   These movies here I'd recommend to our marrieds, 35 and up.   (2) A LOT of these movies are pretty obscure (but boy am I happy that they are available now on Amazon Video ;-).  As such, SOME of the reviews I've written, say far more than I would have written if I had believed that I wasn't writing "obituaries" -- gre...
