 The goverment of the State of California is set to offer financial assistence in the form of $500/person, $1000/household to those persons / families who are undocumented, living here in California and have been effected financially by the COVID-19 crisis.
TO PARTICIPATE, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT

 That you call either ASIAN AMERICANS ADVANCING JUSTICE-LA -- tel: 213-241-8880 -- or CHIRLA -- tel: 213-201-8700 -- beginning Monday, May 18 as soon as they open.  They will be open during the week 9 AM - 5 PM.  
THE NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY ARE ...

Hi folks, Yesterday, I was asked by a Deacon of ours, "Hey Father, you used to write about movies.  Come up with a list of Comedy movie suggestions for us PLEASE NOTHING HARD OR DEPRESSING.  My wife and I have pretty much burned through our Netflix Queue..." SO ... challenged ...  Here are 15-20 movie selections that most folks NEVER WOULD HAVE HEARD OF but WILL NEVER FORGET after seeing them AND ... they're all on Amazon Prime Video ;-) A couple of caveats:   (1) This is a list for adults.  There are all sorts of movies for kids , teens and young adults (late teens, early 20s) that I would recommend.   These movies here I'd recommend to our marrieds, 35 and up.   (2) A LOT of these movies are pretty obscure (but boy am I happy that they are available now on Amazon Video ;-).  As such, SOME of the reviews I've written, say far more than I would have written if I had believed that I wasn't writing "obituaries" -- gre...

A Pictorial Life of St. Philip Benizi at SPB Parish, Fullerton, CA

[Versión en Español] Introduction: Sometime in July 2021, a family of artists from my parents' part of the world "dropped out of the sky" and came to the Parish to ask if they could paint some things for us.   They said not to worry about money as they had their own funding but wished in fact to do something nice for a friend they had known who had a connection to Fullerton.  Looking at a number of examples of their work -- they were good -- and assured that this wouldn't cost us anything (we will definitely take up a Collection for them before they complete all of their work), I said what the heck.   For the sake of due diligence, I had them go through our Diocese's Safe Environment program, complete with finger printing, and I got them all COVID-19 vaccines.   With any such request in this regard, they always quite happily complied.
